Biography

Olivier Souffrant questions the saturation of images and their appropriation in the digital age. Drawing from online archives, magazines, and social media, he deconstructs and reassembles these fragments to create new compositions, printed on canvas or aluminum, before layering them with acrylic and oil paints.
Inspired by his Haitian heritage and diasporic experience, he explores the tensions between memory, identity, and reconstruction. Sport, as a stage for the body in action, occupies a central place in his work.
The artist reframes iconic moments in sports history, transforming them into immersive scenes that celebrate human connection, while playing with monumental scale to immerse the viewer in the action. Through this lens, he aims to create a bond that transcends cultural and geographical boundaries.
